ARTIST NOTES: Textured Sunflower Modern Impressionistic Art in Pink and Gold on black primed gallery wrapped canvas.
Influenced by Mandala art, this is a beautiful pink and gold sunflower with a textured centre. Hundreds of 'texture drops' were individually placed to create a rich, 3D effect. The Pink petals with a gold outline creates a unique vibrance on the black background.

ARTIST BIO

Art is my lifeline…My first love!

I am Rujuta (Chaudhari) Atre – artist/ designer at ‘RTISTIC by Rujuta – a Melbourne based creative.

I was born and brought up in Mumbai, India. Although artistically inclined from a young age, I put my creative talents on the back burner to study Bachelor of IT and then came to Australia in 2004 to pursue a Masters degree in IT at RMIT University. I then went on to work a corporate position for 9+ years in the Energy Industry in Melbourne. In 2015, after my role was retrenched, I decided to give my creative dream a chance – the only chance!

Thus, began my creative journey in 2016, when I went back to RMIT University to study Interactive Digital Media. However, I still missed painting. In 2017, I finally started creating paintings – fine art; in which I have little to none formal training! It was then, with encouragement from friends and family, that ‘RTISTIC by Rujuta’ was born.

I love creating vibrant, colourful paintings, and digital artworks. I believe that art should be pleasing to the eye! Hence you will always find a bit of my cheerful personality in my work. I enjoy experimenting and pursuing new & innovative ways of making art like ‘finger painting’ technique where no brushes are used! Another form of art I make, is Mandala designs, which has its roots in India. These paintings usually have some detailed thin brushwork and symmetrical or rhythmic strokes. I also work with texture and acrylics. In addition to this, I create digital and hand-drawn artworks.

For my paintings, I use high quality paints which extend over the sides of thick edged stretched gallery wrapped canvas. The use of quality mediums and their unique combinations are sure to brighten any room and add some zing!

Hope you find my work enjoyable. Thank you!
